Working Holiday Visa in Canada

About this visa

This visa helps young people come to Canada. You can generally apply for this visa if you have at least $2,000 USD to live on during your stay. While you’re here you can study and work while you enjoy your extended holiday of up to two years!

Things to note

Canada uses a visa pooling system which limits the number of Working Holiday visas (referred to in Canada as the “International Experience Canada” program)  issued on a per-country basis. If your application is selected you will receive an Invitation to Apply offer to complete your visa application.

  1. Hi I am an Italian Citizen however I live in England and have been doing so for the past 20 years. I have permanent residency in the UK.

Do i have to reside in Italy to be able to apply for the IEC?

    1. Hi Dee, thanks for asking. I had to look up IEC (International Experience Canada) and will update this Post to help others seeking that Term.

The requirement for a permanent address assumes you reside in Italy, it is only limited to the work permit and I suspect you can provide the permanent address in the country you currently reside, I would call Canadian immigration and ofcourse confirm this but you’re the exception to the rule here so do ask for verbal and/or written clarification on that work permit requirement from Canadian immigration officials.

The visa pool is open so wishing you a great experience in Canada! 🙂
